What Is the Centre for Social Impact and Change (CSIC)?
CSIC offers education, career guidance and inspiration to the younger generation of Pakistan, the underprivileged among them especially. It works through three wings: Unsung Achievers, CourseMera and Noor-e-Ilm. It is a work of community building service, offered for the sake of Allah.
Who Founded CSIC?
Dr. Rana Nadir Idrees, an Associate Professor, founded CSIC and has funded it himself since 2024.
What Are the Three Wings?
Unsung Achievers records the real life journeys of Pakistan's quiet achievers and publishes them in Urdu and English on YouTube, since August 2024. CourseMera is an e-lecturing platform with three complete courses, free to watch. Noor-e-Ilm ("the light of knowledge") is the on-site wing: career and psychological counselling in public schools and colleges.
Who Is CSIC For?
For underprivileged young people of Pakistan, aged 14 to 24, in a public (government) school, college, university or vocational institute, and for young people who are out of school or out of work.
Are the CourseMera Courses Free?
Yes. Every lesson is free to watch on the CourseMera channel, with or without a certificate, and no lesson is ever behind a payment. The three courses are Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Research Tools and Techniques, and Corporate Governance.
How Do I Get a CourseMera Certificate?
Apply by one email with your name, your city, what you study or do, and the course you want; you are sent a start date. Then you study the lessons, and you are assessed through the quizzes in the course, one written assignment and a short final assessment. The pass mark is 60 percent. You then receive a Certificate of Completion in your name. The token is PKR 500 from a public school, college or university, and PKR 5,000 otherwise.
When Does Noor-e-Ilm Start, and Where?
The on-site programme starts in February 2027, in the public schools and colleges of Pakistan, Punjab first. Every visit is made with the head's permission and written consent. Its resources and funding are being arranged now.
How Can I Take Part?
Anyone can: as a student, alumnus, colleague, professional or employer, school or college, funder, researcher, or storyteller. Send your CV through the form on the Join page, or write to achieverspodcast@gmail.com with the subject "Join CSIC: your name". A person reads it and replies. Your CV is held for CSIC's own records and is not shared, and you can ask for it to be removed.
Can I Tell My Story on Unsung Achievers?
Yes. Anyone from any walk of life can, or can nominate someone who changed something. The conversation is recorded with consent and published in Urdu or English, and the guest receives a certificate of participation.
What Is an Avacast?
Avacast is the AI-enabled academic broadcasting format that Dr. Nadir and Dr. Rao Muhammad Adeel Nawab built together in 2025. Episode 29 of Unsung Achievers is the world's first Avacast.
Does CSIC Do Research?
Yes. CSIC is the field site of a five-year research project, 2024 to 2029, on bridging workforce gaps for an emerging human-machine society, carried out by the Unsung Achievers Research Lab. It is now in its second phase. The Research Bulletin carries findings to the public in plain language, and the first survey study has been in the field since September 2026. CSIC takes ethics approval for its research and records every story with consent.
